French Press coffee made easy!

French Press preparation is one of our favorite coffee brewing methods! French Press coffee is a type of full-immersion filter coffee, and thanks to its great design, you can easily make French Press coffee even when traveling!

Do you want to make coffee with the French Press, have acquired a Bodum or plunger pot, and are now looking for the right French Press coffee instructions? We've recorded our super simple French Press coffee preparation in this video. With this guide, making good coffee at home is incredibly easy!

The standard recipe for French Press coffee:

  1. Fill the glass carafe of the French Press with coarsely ground coffee -> 60-65g of coffee per liter.

  2. Boil fresh water to 92-96° Celsius and pour it over the coffee.

  3. Put on the lid and let the coffee steep for 4-5 minutes.

  4. Press the plunger down slowly.

  5. Pour the coffee into cups and enjoy.

With the following recipe, you can make really good French Press coffee:

  1. Fill the glass carafe of the French Press with coarsely ground coffee -> 60-65g of coffee per liter. Use a light or medium roast.

  2. Boil fresh water to 92-96° Celsius and pour the appropriate amount over the coffee.

  3. Let the coffee steep for 4 minutes without the lid.

  4. Scoop off the crust on top with a spoon. Put the lid on and let the coffee steep for an additional 4-6 minutes.

  5. Press the plunger down slowly.

  6. Pour the coffee into cups and enjoy perfect French Press coffee at drinking temperature.

We recommend 60-65g of coarsely ground coffee for the French Press. A heaped tablespoon holds about 10g of coffee powder, so use approximately 6 tablespoons per liter of French Press coffee.
