Cold brew coffee is a method of coffee preparation in which ground coffee is extracted over several hours in cold water – as the name suggests, the coffee is ‘brewed’ with cold water. Since cold water extracts less from the coffee grounds, we need to let it extract in the refrigerator for a good 8-12 hours until it becomes a fine coffee beverage.

With Cold Brew coffee, we can extract a lot of flavor through the cold ‘brewing’ process, entirely without unpleasant bitter compounds and acids – of course, the result strongly depends on the coffee used!

Cold Brew coffee can be enjoyed black over ice or as a mixed drink with tonic, milk, oat milk, or even orange juice!

Cold Brew coffee is brewed with cold water over several hours, whilest Iced Coffee is bewed with hot coffee over ice. In terms of taste, Cold Brew is often stronger, more balanced, and lower in acidity compared to Iced Coffee, especially when consumed black.

Cold Brew coffee can be easily stored in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks. If the taste becomes ‘stale,’ it’s time for a new batch!
